A Healthy Home Environment

Many factors play a part in a custom home’s comfort and health. For as much time as we spend in our homes, this is important.

The elements that create these intangibles start at the very beginning with your custom home’s design optimally oriented to capture the sun’s energy, and follow through to the choices made for the components of the home’s mechanical system, and even to materials chosen for its interior finishes.

Your custom home will have a unique design that will guide the best solution for these. We do a thorough design review of both your site and your home’s architecture, leading you through the latest methods and technologies, and then recommend the best options for the place where you will be spending a considerable part of your life.

Each home is unique and requires careful consideration of the best scenario for that individual project. It should be a truly organic approach where your custom home is viewed as a whole, not merely dependent on a prescribed list of features, but on a concerted integration of the best applications.

A Word About Comfort

Comfort cannot be achieved without quality control.

Since Image Homes’ inception in 1985, one of our homes won the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance’s (EEBA.org) award in cooperation with Colorado’s Department of Energy for “the most energy efficient home in the state”.

A few years later, we were twice awarded the prestigious national EnergyValue Housing Award (EVHA) from The NAHB’s Research Center. The house submitted for the first award, chosen from among 23 entrants in the country, was built as a demonstration home highlighting energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and for the first time, ‘green’ building – a new and exciting direction in construction.

The home was featured in a Country Living magazine article, as well as Xcel energy’s ‘Update’ newsletter, and referred to as ‘green building at its best’. School group tours and seminars for the public were hosted at the home for several weeks after its completion to discuss its exceptional efficiency and toxin-free indoor air and use of recycled materials. No furnace was (and still is) necessary for heating this 5,000 square foot home.

Since then, Image Homes has built hundreds of homes, townhomes, and commercial properties in Summit, Gilpin, Clear Creek, Denver, Boulder and Jefferson counties in Colorado. All incorporated the lessons learned from these awards.

No Utility Bill

Is it possible?

Absolutely! That said, the type and efficiency of the mechanical [HVAC] system is critical. When done properly, the mechanical system is designed TO BE AS SMALL AND EFFICIENT AS POSSIBLE.

There are numerous solutions that we will explore with you. Which system, or combination of systems, is the best solution for your home will depend on the site conditions particular to your site, and which components have been selected and incorporated into the thermal envelope. We verify the efficiency of the ‘whole’ home’s performance with third party testing.

IMAGE HOMES, AS DO A LOT OF BUILDERS, SAY THAT THEIR HOMES ARE BUILT WITH CONSERVING ENERGY AS A TOP PRIORITY. IMAGE HOMES DELIVERS!  I WAS SKEPTICAL AT FIRST WHEN THEY SAID OUR GAS BILLS WOULD BE LOW – PLEASE LOOK AT THE ATTACHED COPIES OF OUR BILLS – UNBELIEVABLE…IF I WERE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER HOME TODAY, IT WOULD DEFINITELY BE AN IMAGE HOME. GREAT PRODUCT AND GREAT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH.
